Guitar 101

Every Wednesday, participating students learn from skilled guitar players. Each student is given a chance to handle and practice on a realy accoustic guitar. Student's learn everything from how to string a guitar to how to play bar chords and harmonic leads. No student is left out, instructors verify that each student is learning the curriculum - for those that need the extra help, tutoring time is administered.

Students will be able to play rythm guitar and read chord music by the end of the program. Lessons are administered in a group setting, but addiquate time is spent with each individual, making sure that every student progresses and no one falls through the cracks. The new guitarists will have the oportunity to show case their newly learned skill throughout the year at special programs and showcases.

Advanced students will be taught to read tabliture and play lead guitar. Eventually advanced students will be able to play guitar solos and do individual string picking techniques.
